A little bit about Armenia

Welcome to Armenia. Yerevan, the capital where we're getting married, is actually older than Rome. Yes, really. Marina was born here, and just like her — energetic, positive, a little bit chaotic and sometimes a bit too emotional — this country and its capital are exactly the same. Armenia is unique, with some of the most loving people, stunning nature, incredible food, and above all safety, warmth and endless smiles. People look out for one another on the streets, and family is a huge part of the culture here.

Armenia was also the very first country in the world to officially adopt Christianity, all the way back in 301 AD. So when you're standing in that beautiful old church watching us say "I do," you're standing in a tradition that's been going strong for over 1,700 years.

Keep an eye out for Mount Ararat, the legendary mountain where Noah's Ark is said to have landed. You can't miss it — it towers over the city. And while you're here, don't miss a taste of Armenia's most famous cognac, named after that very same mountain.

Then there's the food. Get ready for lavash fresh out of the clay oven, pomegranates in everything, and enough khorovats (Armenian barbecue) to make you rethink every barbecue you've ever had. And don't be surprised if someone hands you a shot of homemade vodka within five minutes of meeting them — that's just how Armenians say hello.

Above all, Armenians are famous for their hospitality. Guests are treated with so much love, so consider yourself warned: you may never want to leave.
